The ARC today released the second round list of Future Fellowships for 2014 and we are delighted that Matt Tucker’s application was successful. Heartiest congratulations to Matt for a job well done on this fantastic achievement in an incredibly competitive field.

The ARC further honoured Matt by asking him to speak on behalf of the new Future Fellows at a ceremony at the Plant Accelerator of the University of Adelaide’s Waite Campus in Adelaide this morning, when federal Education Minister Christopher Pyne formally announced the Future Fellowships awards for 2014.

The title of Matt’s research project is “Defining pathways that establish and maintain reproductive cell identity in plant ovules and seeds”. The Centre now has two Future Fellows with Dr Joshua Heazlewood recently commencing at the Melbourne node.

Further details on the Future Fellowships round can be found at the ARC  media announcement website and Matt also appeared on the Channel 7 News
