Dr Deirdre Mikkelsen, from the UQ node of the Centre, was selected to attend the 2015 Gordon Research Conference on Applied and Environmental Microbiology: Microbes that Influence, Sustain and Protect Our Planet, recently held in South Hadley, Massachusetts USA.
Dr Mikkelsen presented a poster titled, “In vitro fermentation of native and isotopically labelled cellulose by porcine faecal inoculum and identification of cellulolytic microbiota by DNA stable isotope probing” and she was awarded USD $825.00 financial assistance towards her travel.
