Dr Joshua Hazlewood, currently with Energy Biosciences Institute, Berkeley, USA has been awarded an ARC Future Fellowship to work at the University of Melbourne node of the ARC Centre of Excellence in Plant Cell Walls.

Josh will provide exciting and unique isolation and analytical techniques to study the plant Golgi apparatus to dissect the componentry of this organelle so vital to the synthesis & assembly of cell wall/plasma membrane glycoconjugates. His work will align with the approaches used at the University of Melbourne Node of the ARC Centre to support approaches aimed at optimising production of plant biomass for agricultural and industrial applications.

It is anticipated that Josh will commence in mid 2014.
