The plant cell wall community was well represented at the IBC conference. Many of us enjoyed the great diversity of subjects covered over the course of the conference with the juxtaposition of plant biotechnology with conservation and taxonomy providing a particularly interesting dynamic. The Congress Gala-Gardens of the World must also surely rank as one of the most visually sumptuous conference dinners and was thoroughly enjoyed by all attendees.
