Biofuels of the future

Australia could turn to plants such as agave, hemp, saltbush and plantago for potential biofuel production, according to UA node leader, Professor Rachel Burton.

In a recent article titled “Biofuels: could agave, hemp and saltbush be the fuels of the future?“, published by The Guardian, Professor Burton discusses the possibility of using these hardy plants on soils that are too dry or saline for food crops such as corn and sugarcane.
